Guests will enjoy cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres before viewing an intimate Q&A session with former MLB players Gary Matthews Sr. and Bob Dernier. The program will be moderated by Chicago Tribune sports columnist, Teddy Greenstein.


1. He played for the San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners from 1972 through 1987.

2. He is an All-Star (1979) and NL Rookie of the Year (1973).

3. Is the father of former major leaguer Gary Matthews Jr. and they are one of seven father/son combinations in Cubs history.


1. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Chicago Cubs in the 1980s.

2. He is a recipient of the Gold Glove Award (1984).

3. He was named the Cubs major league first base coach on August 23, 2010
